Master Social Media Content Marketing in Three Steps!

The best writers and business leaders have the habit of attracting a huge audience all thanks to their storytelling. How exactly do they create a furor over their online content and become memorable across social media platforms? And do you have to be the best writer or business leader to tap into this powerful form of communication? The answer is – NOPE! In fact, all it takes is three simple steps to become a master in social media content marketing.

  1. Headlines matter.

If you want to catch the attention of your reader, then create a headline that will instantly attract them. Inject the element of surprise or action! In six words or less, make use of quirky verbs or uncanny twists.

“On the average, 5 times as many people read the headline as read the body copy. When you have written your headline, you have spent 80 cents out of your dollar.” – David Ogilvy

Make use of numbers, interesting adjectives, and unique rationale. As much as we don’t want to make promises that we can’t keep, forget that and make an audacious promise. Use a headline that uses why, when, how, or what as these are trigger words that instantly attract readers. Need more help on this trick? Follow this formula:

Number + Adjective + Keyword + Promise

Example: The subject is on Instagram followers. The article you write may be titled “How to Increase Your Instagram Followers.”

Or you could apply the formula above and make your headline way better: “16 Easy Ways to Increase Your Instagram Followers in Just One Month!”

Looking at both titles, which one would best catch the attention of the reader? We all know the answer to that now, don’t we?

  1. Keep Your Readers Engaged

Once you’ve reeled in your reader with a catchy headline, the next important step is to keep their attention! Keep them engaged with simple, human stories, which is a strategy that Bernie Sanders has mastered in his campaign of storytelling. The trick is to appeal to the emotions of your readers. Once you’ve got them reeled in and engaged, it becomes easier to keep readers coming back for more.

  1. Give Specific Details When Delivering Your Message

Authenticity is what strives to be a valuable ingredient in content and social media. This is why every detail matters when it comes to the message or story you deliver to your readers. Specific details equal authenticity. The more authentic you are, the more likely your social media content marketing strategy works.

Remember, people today don’t respond to lingo marketers use. Anything inauthentic is immediately shrugged off. So, keep it real by giving specific details in your story. Create a story that connects with your customers and with your product and brand.
